Ćelija Piperska Monastery
Founded in 1637
About Ćelija Piperska Monastery
Ćelija Piperska was built in 1637 near the village of Crnci, on a rock with a wide view over the Bjelopavlići valley. Legend links its founding to St Stefan Piperski, whose relics rest in the church of the Mother of God; the interior is unpainted, and the nuns made the iconostasis after the monastery was restored in 1994. Our advice: combine it with Ostrog on the same day; dress modestly.
