Njegoš Monument
By Sreten Stojanović, 1954
About Njegoš Monument
Petar II Petrović Njegoš, prince-bishop, poet and philosopher, laid the foundations of the modern Montenegrin state and wrote The Mountain Wreath. His monument, by the academic sculptor Sreten Stojanović, was raised in 1954 on Bulevar Stanka Dragojevića, in the park that bears his name. Our advice: read our Njegoš back story first, then visit his mausoleum on Lovćen.
