Besac fortress crowns the hill above Virpazar, one of the oldest military fortifications preserved in today’s Montenegro, reached by a narrow side road of the Virpazar–Bar route. From its walls Virpazar looks like a fairy-tale village. Our advice: go for the late-afternoon light.
