Sveti Marko island
The bay’s largest island
About Sveti Marko island
Sveti Marko, the largest island in the Bay of Kotor at 34 hectares, is 20 minutes by boat from the Pine jetty. Under the Nemanjić dynasty it was called Sveti Gavrilo, after a monastery of St Gabriel; in Venetian times a camp of Greek soldiers, stradioti, gave it the name Stradioti. Our advice: take a boat trip that circles the islands.
