About The lakes of Durmitor
Durmitor has 18 glacial lakes, known as mountain eyes. Beyond the Black Lake, walkers seek out Riblje, Pošćensko, Modro and Srablje on the Three Lakes route, Zminje in the forest, Jablan at 1,791 metres beneath Crvena greda, and the two Škrka lakes in a high valley ringed by the highest summits; Sušica lake, in its canyon, dries out completely in summer. Our advice: pick up a trail map in Žabljak and go early.
