Stari Bar stands on a huge rock massif, sheer to the east and south, four kilometres from the sea. Inside its walls lie the remains of churches, palaces, a hamam, a clock tower and an aqueduct, a whole medieval city to explore, surrounded by the olive trees that are Bar’s symbol. There is a small entrance charge. Our advice: go early or late, wear good shoes and then eat in the old bazaar below the gate.
