Podgorica means “below Gorica”: its wooded hill to the north, and Ljubović to the south, are the city’s green escapes.
About Gorica & the hills
Gorica hill rises just north of the centre, with forest paths, views and the old Church of St George at its foot. In the south, the forest park of Ljubović is another favourite for an early walk.
Both are best early in the morning or in the evening, when the heat eases.
